Location: Sankey Chamber

Plenary: “Learning That Travels Well”, Dr. Edward Zlotkowski

It is ironic that so few former students identify academic learning experiences as memorable. Asked about a powerful learning experience, most choose some event unconnected to any course of study. One strength of community-based learning is that it helps close the gap between formal learning requirements and learning that makes a lasting personal impression. In this keynote we will look at some of the reasons more and more researchers and practitioners are identifying community-based learning as one of our truly “powerful” new pedagogies.

Concurrent Sessions include:
•Reflection and Assessment in Service-Learning
•Community Partnering
•Supporting Service-Learning at Brock
•Best Practices in Service-Learning
