Encouraging Participation and Facilitating Engagement in an Online Humanities Course

 

Join Jane and Kevin (Instructional Support Assistants, Humanities) in this asynchronous workshop.

 

WHEN: This workshop is an asynchronous event, you can access the activities and materials via Sakai.

Tuesday, October 13th through Friday, October 30th

Note: If you are not yet a member of the site you will be added to the site ahead of the workshop.

 

WHAT:

This workshop will share techniques and tips to encourage participation and engagement in an online course while also bringing to light the various challenges students and teachers may face with this learning environment. Techniques such as icebreakers suited to the online classroom, various mediums of engagement, as well as tips to share with students for making your own space an environment that promotes and supports online learning.

WHY ATTEND?

Participation in this session will earn 1 TA credit towards the completion of the Certificate in Online Teaching & Learning in Higher Education.

 

CPI Workshops are open to ALL Brock University teaching assistants, marker-graders, tutorial leaders, course coordinators and lab demonstrators. Workshops are applicable to all disciplines.
