Contemplative Practices in Higher Education 2017
Tuesday April 18, 2017
Location: Rodman Hall

Contemplative practices include activities such as meditation, storytelling, mindful walking, yoga, music and reflection.

This full day session offers a rich and diverse set of tools for helping students decrease stress, increase learning, and gain a greater sense of connection and resilience in undertaking post secondary education. Such tools also assist educators in maintaining a healthy work life balance and stay connected with the broader purpose of the work we do.

Participants will actively practice these activities and discuss:

· contemplative education and its benefits to students and to educators
· ways in which contemplatives practices can be used in teaching and learning

Wear comfortable clothing to engage in a variety of activities. A light lunch will be provided.
